Her expertise spans a diversity of issues, including water law, environmental law, property law, land conservation, agricultural law, administrative law, appellate law and general litigation. Courtney has significant experience concerning regulatory matters affecting businesses, agricultural operations, and landowners, including environmental permitting, water rights, water utilities, and related matters. She regularly handles cases before state administrative agencies, including the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, the Public Utility Commission of Texas, and the State Office of Administrative Hearings. Courtney also assists clients with litigation needs, where she has worked extensively on cases in state and federal courts as well as administrative agencies. Driven by a love of writing and advocacy, she has significant experience in brief writing before state and federal district and appellate courts, including the Texas Supreme Court and the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. Courtney regularly prepares and submits appellate amicus briefs on behalf of clients that address important policy considerations for agriculture, business, and landowners.
